Mini Chefs Make Great Helpers...and Eaters!

It's tempting as parents to rush through day to day chores to get it all done quickly and efficiently. However, I find involving my son, Jack, in the preparation of meals and small chores makes a big impact on his willingness to try new things. Even a very small toddler can help wash fruits and vegetables, tear lettuce leaves, spread peanut butter on whole grain crackers, etc. Children are more likely to eat healthy foods if they had a hand in preparing them. It helps to develop a since of pride and self-confidence. So, hand them an apron and make meal prep a family affair!
